Fossil Friday #330: Mazon Creek in the Illinois State Fair 4H

This is Throwback Thursday #330. In these, we look back into the past at ESCONI specifically and Earth Science in general. If you have any contributions, (science, pictures, stories, etc …), please send them to esconi.info@gmail.com. Thanks!

ESCONI Junior Luke Schallhorn had his Mazon Creek Fossils 4H geology project selected as a delegate from Marshall-Putnam County to the Illinois State Fair! It will be on display on Sunday, August 16th, 2026. If you are at the fair, check it out!

He used the ESCONI reference books for identification of the specimens.  Here are a couple of photos from the 4H County fair. Thanks for sharing, Luke and his mother Tina!
