Fossil Friday #23: Animals from Braceville

There is a field trip to Braceville to collect Mazon Creek concretions on September 19th and 20th, 2020.  Last week, we did plant fossils from Braceville.  This week, we will highlight some of the animal fossils that can be found there.

Octomedusa pieckorum (Jellyfish)

Mazonomya mazonensis (Clam)

Aviculopecten mazonensis (Scallop)

Mazopherusa prinosi (Fan worm)

Paucijaculum samamithion (Arrow worm)

Palaeoxyris sp. (Shark egg case)

Essexella asherae (Jellyfish)

Dryptoscolex matthiesae (Rat worm)

Kallidecthes richardsoni (Shimp)
