I wish I had known of his passing earlier. I was one of his students for many classes at UICC 1966 thru 1970. I prepared many fossils for him and did the illustrations and photos for some of his papers mentioned here.

I’m sad to learn of David’s death. We were grad students together at the University of Kansas in the early 1960’s and had great adventures exploring for and collecting fossil fishes in the Niobrara and other Cretaceous rocks of western Kansas and southeastern South Dakota (where we used ladders and binoculars along the shore cliffs of Lewis and Clark Lake). My condolences to Nadia and Elsa (if she’s still alive). George Callison
