Spooky season has arrived at the Field Museum! Join us for Fright at the Field, a Halloween experience featuring the return of Underground MISadventure, and Halloween Harvest Maze, a new spooky takeover of Plants of the World. Plus, explore the Museum to find seven creepy-cool specimens, like Witch’s Hat Fungus and the Vampire Bat, to complete Chompy’s Secret Lair challenge to win a special prize!

Underground MISadventure: Zombie Fungus

This year, Underground Adventure will transform into Underground MISadventure: Zombie Fungus. Step into an immersive adventure, where you’ll meet a creepy, crawly cast of characters, including an ant infected with a zombie fungus!

This eerie experience will mix fun storytelling with surprising science, highlighting the weirdly fascinating world of fungi. As you explore Underground MISadventure: Zombie Fungus, you will encounter a diverse array of creepy mushrooms, including ones that are deadly poisonous and ones that are carnivorous!

Halloween Harvest Maze

Plants of the World will be decked out as a spooky Halloween Harvest Maze. You can even follow a scavenger hunt of the plants behind Halloween traditions like chocolate, jack-o’-lanterns, and rubber masks. Enter if you dare!

Visit Fright at the Field…open late!

Fright at the Field will run September 26 through November 1, 2026. The Field Museum will be open late until 9pm on October 6 and Halloween. Entry to Underground MISadventure: Zombie Fungus and Halloween Harvest Maze is included with general admission.
