Throwback Thursday #49: 2011 Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show

This is Throwback Thursday #49.  In these, we look back into the past at ESCONI specifically and Earth Science in general.  If you have any contributions, (science, pictures, stories, etc …), please sent them to esconi.info@gmail.com.  Thanks!

It’s March and March is usually time for the ESCONI Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show.  We unfortunately had to cancel in 2020, but this year a scaled down version will be held October 9th, 2021. Today, let’s go back 10 years ago to the ESCONI Show. in 2011.  That show was held on March 19th and 20th, 2011 at the College of DuPage, Building K, Commons Room. Building K was torn down and replaced by a modern one a few years ago.

Check out the photos below.  There are many familiar faces and some we haven’t seen for a while.  As usual, we had a bunch of displays that year.  Looks like everyone is having fun…. can’t wait for October!

Disappointing this can’t be in person this year.
