The BeHistoric channel on Youtube has a fascinating video about the history behind the name of the DuPage River and DuPage County.

In this video documentary (#95) we examine the origins of the DuPage County and DuPage River name, investigating the earliest references on maps and manuscripts, exploring the early French colonies and the Kaskaskia manuscripts, and expanding on the how and when the DuPage name took root to the southwest of the Chicago Portage in Illinois.
