Program: “Geodes from Around the World”

Illinois is not a great place for mineral collecting, but it has geodes! In this program, I’ll talk about geodes from Illinois and many other places around the world including the western and midwestern U.S., Mexico, South America, England, Asia and Australia. I will describe different types of geodes, where they form, how they form, and what they look like. I’ll discuss methods of opening geodes and cleaning them. There will be lots of pictures and example specimens.

If you have geodes, please bring them to show to the group.
