A brachiopod plate from the Silica shale in Ohio is our next preview.  The plate has some well preserved Mucrospirifer mucronatus brachiopods.  For more information, Fossil Friday #7 looked at the Silica shale, which is exposed in quarries around Toledo, OH.   The LaFarge quarry in Paulding, OH is a famous locality where anyone can stop and collect various Devonian fossils.
