Sylvia Josefek and her husband Paul were very active in ESCONI during 1980s and 1990s. Paul was Treasurer from 1985 until 1990, while Sylvia was interested in lapadary and jewelry making. She created and later donated this “Rock Cafe” display to the Lizzadro Museum in Oak Brook, IL.

Here is one of her earlier iterations on the theme… “Cafe ESCONI”.
In April, ESCONI member, Sylvia Josefek, set up a case at the Americana Nursing Home in Naperville, Il., displaying her:

Hors-de’oeure … Caviar-Jet Beads
Wafer-Geode Slices
Roast Beef … Petrified Wood
Mushrooms … Caps-Petosky Stone
Stems-Horned Coral
Spinach Souffe … Conglomerate Stone
Peas and Beans … Glass and Beach Stone
Black Olives … Clay
Watermelon… Onyx
Rainbow Fruit Compote … Austrian Glass-Onyx
Grapes … Austrian Glass-Onyx
Cheese … Soapstone
Ice Cubes … Quartz Crystal
Cafe au Lait … Sand and ShellThe Flower Arrangement was Jade and Onyx. The dishes were Columbia pattern–Federal Glass Company–1941. The napkin ring was Silver with Abalone. The salt and pepper shakers were Brass and Abalone.
The residents enjoyed it because it was set on a low table so that it could be observed at wheelchair eye level.
