    I did a deep dive back into the Mazon creek hobby around 20 years ago and have been mildly-addicted ever since. In addition to building a respectable collection of fossils, I obtained nearly every relevant book on the subject including all of Langfords available material. When my “field” copy of Leaves and Stems from Fossil Forests (Jannsen 1939) became tattered, I decided to find a hardcover copy for my personal library and ended up purchasing the hardcopy on a bookfinder website. When the hardcover arrived, I was completely surprised to find a lengthy and well written inscription on the cover leaf from George Langford to his sister-in-law, dated 6/1940.
