Meet at Red Oak Nature Center in North Aurora Il. at 10:30 a.m. Juniors will be encouraged to see the sights at the museum, which include a “shrinking room”, a bee colony, a hands-on area, and a room filled iwth live animals native to the area. 9 minute video about the preserve and the legend of Devil’s Cave, followed by a walk to and exploration of the cave. He will be speaking about: The Magnificent Morrison – a historic look at this Late Jurassic rock unit that has produced so many familiar dinosaurs – Allosaurus, Apatosaurus (“Brontosaurus”), Diplodocus, Stegosaurus – from such famous sites as Dinosaur National Monument, Como Bluff and Bone Cabin. The talk will end with a look at a Morrison site in southern Montana that our own Rob Sula has helped excavate for the past 10 summers.
