Today’s preview is a beautiful piece of Halite from Searles Lake, Trona, California. Halite are natural crystallized salt, sometimes referred to as “rock salt”. Its chemical makeup is sodium chloride. It forms as evaporite deposits in saline lakes and watercourses, or as bedded sedimentary rock.
